It was a beautiful Sunday morning in June, and I was putting away clean laundry when my phone rang. Marina of Marina Christine Photography called to ask if I would be able to come with her down to Calgary that day for a Monday wedding. Of course, I said yes, and soon we hit the QE2 southbound. After a quick visit with my cousin and her family, we drove out to our Airbnb in Cochrane.
The next day, the sun was shining, the skies were blue, and we met Claire, the bride, who had just finished getting her hair and makeup done.
The bridal party prayed over Claire in the backyard under the apple tree, and soon, Claire had been zipped into her dress, and we were off to the Sacred Heart Church in the Southwest of Calgary. After a beautiful ceremony where the bride and groom said their vows over their crucifix, we brought the couple back inside the church to photograph their formal portraits in front of the stained glass, which turned out stunning.
The reception followed the COVID restrictions of Calgary in June, where no more than 80 people could assemble outdoors for a wedding. There were so many beautiful details of their day.
